Keyword Phrases: Something To Keep In Mind When Writing Articles
Monday, December 28, 2009
Keyword phrases are something to keep in mind when writing articles for your websites, blogs or article directories.
Keyword Phrases have become an integral part of everything that you put up on the Internet.
They are important for the search engines to effectively evaluate your content, as it relates to searches made by their users.
Let’s look at a few aspects of keyword phrases you should keep in mind when writing articles for your sites.
First of all; any time you use private label rights (PLR) articles, or even portions of them, they must be re written in order to be used on your website or blog.
If you neglect to do this, the search engines will recognize your article as duplicate content, and could severely penalize your site.
When you rewrite any private label rights article, be sure to include keyword phrases that most adequately describe what your article is about.
If at all possible, never use the first paragraph, or the title of the PLR article. Create your own unique title, and rewrite the article in your own words, beginning with the second, or third paragraph.
Don't use the last paragraph of the article, create your own ending using the "sense" of the article.
After you make the initial re-write; you need to tweak your article, by dynamically inserting your keywords, or keyword phrase into your article title, the first paragraph of your article, the last paragraph of the article, and several times in the body of the article.
Keyword phrases are something you must keep in mind when writing articles if you want your website recognized on the Internet.
All your article content should be centered around your keywords and keyword phrases.
When a visitor goes to a website, many of them are merely browsing. However, the majority of visitors using the search engines, are looking for something specific.
When this occurs, a searcher types in a keyword, or more often a keyword phrase, to find what they are looking for.
It is important that you have that specific keyword phrase highlighted in your article, so that your article shows up in the search engine results, when the visitor searches for that particular keyword phrase.
When someone searches for a boat, car, cancer, tropical fish, Corvette, or whatever; they want information on what they searched for, and nothing else.
The most important thing to keep in mind, is that your article has the keyword phrases inserted in it, that are related to your website.
If your website is about gardening, you certainly do not want to publish an article about fish keeping, or glass cutting.
So, when writing your articles remember to place your keyword phrases front and center.
Autoresponders : How To Improve Your List Response
Sunday, December 20, 2009
Autoresponders are a superior way to increase your business.
Unfortunately, we sometimes get stuck in a rut using only one marketing strategy, such as ezines, and need a little nudge to improve your list response.
Here are a few ideas to improve your list response, and get out of your autoresponder rut.
Try offering an ebook to your visitors by just using your autoresponder. It's a convenience that saves them from having to download the software to read your ebook.
This method allows them to read the book on the go.
To help with occasional technical issues, such as dropped Internet connections, or power outages; you could load your entire web site as a .pdf file into your autoresponder, for your readers to access anytime they choose, offline.
Sometimes, time strapped visitors just don't have the time to read your entire website. This method allows them to print out your entire site offline, and read it at a later date.
Some Internet marketers include their terms and conditions of sale into their autoresponders, and send them out after a purchase is finalized.
This provides a nice handy legal touch to your business, for things such as refunds, purchases, and return policies.
Instead of hosting all of your archived ezine articles online, you could provide your website visitors and subscribers easy access to back issues of your articles via your autoresponder.
Using autoresponders in this way, will not only improve your list response; it allows you to include graphics, video, audio, and other components to your ezines, by saving them in .pdf file format, for quick easy downloads.
With a little bit of ingenuity, I'm sure you can find other ways to improve your list response using autoresponders. You can learn more free information on autoresponders here.
Perceived Value - What Does It Mean To My Business?
Sunday, December 13, 2009
Perceived value is simply defined, as the value that a customer attaches to a brand or service.
Perceived value is subjective, and often it's the image, or personality, that differentiates one product from an identical competitor's product or service.
No product or service that is available on the Internet, has an intrinsic value attached to it, that can't be changed by good Internet marketing practices.
Once you understand your customer base, and solve the problems that they need addressed; you are creating value, in terms of benefits to your customer.
When you provide your customers with more than what they expect from you, the perceived value of your product or service increases.
However, the increase in the perceived value of your product, is still somewhat dependent on it's cost.
Generally, when you provide your customers with high quality products at reduced prices; you are providing an exceptionally high value offer.
The perceived value of your product may increase or decrease, depending on the cost.
Remember that the quality of a product or service is subjective, and can be greatly influenced by aggressive marketing, to create a stronger demand.
In the current market, where every penny counts; online businesses have to work harder to attract loyal customers.
Although you may be offering the highest quality product available; you could still find that your customers are flocking to your competitors, because they offer the best perceived value.
Value isn't just about quality, if that quality comes at an exorbitant price.
Value is a balance between product quality, price, and the benefits of the purchase to the customer.
It all depends on how you've marketed your product to exemplify the best, versus the cost.
Perceived value is extremely important to any online business, and should be constantly tweaked and improved when necessary, to remain valuable in the minds of your consumers.

RSS - What are the disadvantages of RSS?
Sunday, December 6, 2009
There are only a few disadvantages of RSS and the only reason they are being mentioned is because it is relatively new technology.
RSS stands for, Really Simple Syndication, or Rich Site Summary; and is a
basically an article that is republished from another website or blog.
Short of user preference concerns, there are relatively few drawbacks to using RSS, and these are briefly mentioned below.
- RSS feeds do not use email addresses.
- Not all RSS feeds provide graphics and photographs.
- Sometimes the source website's identity can be confusing.
- Website publishers are unable to determine the number of users that are subscribed to their feeds.
When users unsubscribe from their feed, publishers are never given a reason, therefore they have no feedback to improve their advertising.
- A good disadvantage is that RSS feeds create a higher traffic demand on servers.
- Some sites still do not support RSS.

Private Label Rights Is A Winning Strategy For Everybody
Wednesday, November 25, 2009
For those of you who don't already know; using private label rights is a winning strategy for everybody involved.
If I told you that you could take someone else's work, change it as you please,
and then call the revised product your own, would you believe me?
What if I told you that you could also make money from the revised product, without having to worry about copywright infringements?
Well, both of these statements are true, when you purchase private label rights content.
In order to get an understanding of private label rights, you first should learn what resale rights, and master resale rights are all about.
All are interrelated to some extent.
Resale Rights, are when the owner of a product permits you to take his material, distribute it, and sell it as your own.
Master Resale Rights, extend the owner's permissions, and allow you to sell the resale rights to the work, along with the owner's product to others.
It is called master resale rights, because it extends the permissible actions that an individual can take, when they purchase the rights from the owner of the product.
Normally when you purchase a master resale rights product, you are permitted to do most or all of the following:
- You can give away the product unaltered.
- You can combine the product with other products.
- You can give away the product as a bonus.
- You can use the product as content for your website.
- You can break the product apart into separate articles.
- You can sell the rights to the product or the product itself on auction.
- You can use the product as content for paid membership sites.
- You can alter or change the product any way you see fit.
- You can sell the resale rights for the product.
Generally, it is substantially cheaper to acquire private label rights, than it is to purchase master resale rights for a product.
Using private label rights is a winning strategy, when you alter the product to create a unique new product, that you can then sell as your own work.
If you acquire private label rights to an ebook, for example; you can chop the book up into separate chapters, and then sell them as articles.
Using a similar example, you could also acquire the private label rights to several articles, modify the contents by adding or deleting details; including pictures, sound, or videos; package them into an ebook format, and then sell the new ebook for a profit, as your own creation.
The best part about using private label rights products, is that you never have to name the original author of the product or worry about paying anyone royalties.
Using private label rights is a winning strategy for everybody, including the original creator of the product.
Because of the increased demand for original private label rights content, good writers can make a great deal of money from their works. There is also the additional incentive for them to sell the master resale rights with their content, at a higher price.
Using private label rights is a winning strategy for Internet marketers as well as the originators of the PLR content.

Build Your List Writing eZine Articles
Friday, November 20, 2009
A simple list building strategy that you might consider using, is to build your list writing eZine articles.
When done properly, you can leverage your viral marketing efforts writing articles, and
create a substantial targeted list.
Submit your articles on your area of expertise, in the normal manner, to article directories where eZine publishers are looking for information to republish.
By writing articles, you are demonstrating your expertise, and proving you worth in your niche market to your target audience.
You can increase your mailing list by judiciously using the resource box at the end of your article.
In the resource box, or bio box; include details about your business and your business site, as you would normally do in a submitted article.
However, instead of including your website URL in the resource box; include the URL of your landing page or squeeze page, where you have provided a free offering to your visitors, to obtain their names, and email addresses.
As long as you provide well written unique articles that eZine publishers are willing to republish; your articles, along with your resource box, will be virally transmitted to their readers and subscribers.
This provides you an effortless, free viral marketing method of building your mailing list, at no cost to you.
You can begin to build your list writing eZine articles, and submitting them to trusted article submitter sites, or directly to several different article directories today.

Private Label Rights
Wednesday, November 4, 2009
If you are new to the term PLR, also known as Private Label Rights; let me explain precisely what they are.
When you purchase a product with private label rights, you also get the source files for the product.
By purchasing the "rights" to the product; you are legally allowed to name yourself the author of the product, you can make changes to the appearance of the product, you can change the text, price, or totally remake the product.
You can also promote the product any way you like, or you can set up an affiliate program and have your affiliates promote it.
Essentially, you own the product, and can do almost anything you want to with the product, with some exceptions.
You cannot give away the product in it's original form.
You cannot sell the private label rights to the product.
You cannot sell the product in auctions to substantially devalue the value of the product.
Sometimes, other restrictions are levied by the producer of the product, but they are inconsequential.
Purchasing private label rights to a product saves you a great deal of time and money.
Generally, good PLR products are well worth the money that you pay for them.
A quality PLR product usually includes graphics, website templates that you can edit, sales pages, marketing material, and everything you need to quickly set up a product website.
When you consider the time and development costs incurred; PLR products are a real bargain.

Should You Use Keyword Meta Tags?
Wednesday, October 28, 2009
Should you use keyword Meta Tags when optimizing your web pages?
That is an often a heatedly debated question, when search engine optimization strategies are being discussed.
How much weight Google, and the other search engines, place on the keyword meta tag, is something I've always wondered about.
Well, according to a video from Matt Cutts, Google's head of Webspam; Google rarely uses the keyword meta tag for their rankings.
Google occasionally uses a part of the meta description tag, usually the first 160 characters, for the description that you see in the search engine results.
The description meta tag has no bearing on Google's ranking of websites.
Some search engines such as Yahoo, and Ask, still use the keyword meta tag in their algorithms.
So, it's probably a good idea, instead of leaving the keyword tag empty, to continue using the keyword meta tag for search engines, other than Google.
If for no other reason, it provides a good insurance policy for the search engines that still factor the keyword meta tag into their algorithms.
The keyword meta tag is used by the Google search appliance, however it doesn't affect the organic results at google.com.
So, should you use keyword meta tags? It can't hurt, but it's entirely up to you.

Thursday, October 22, 2009
There are several ways you can use Web 2.0 to funnel traffic to your website.
Some examples of Web 2.0 websites are file sharing sites, blogs, book marking sites, wikis, rating sites, and social networking sites.
YouTube, Facebook, Myspace, Digg, del.icio.us, and Wikipedia are some examples of the above, however, the list is humongous.
As you can see, Web 2.0 websites generate a phenomenal amount of traffic.
Here is a simple technique to create traffic to your website using Web 2.0.
Create unique, quality, compelling content and submit your articles to Web 2.0 content sharing, or content rating websites, such as Digg, Newsvine, Reddit or Propeller.
After submitting your article, people get to vote on it. The more votes you acquire, the more visibility your article gets.
If you have a quality article, the potential for creating traffic to your website is staggering.
As readers click on your link to read the full article, they create a permanent back link to your web site, that the search engines just love.
Your search engine rankings will increase tremendously when you attract a backline from a high quality website.
The same web marketing technique is also applicable with YouTube and other Web 2.0 video sharing websites.
You can produce an original video, and upload it where it will be seen, and rated, by millions of people online.
You can creatively place a link to your web site or business, into the content of the video, and submit your video to several Web 2.0 sites.
The more your video is viewed, the better chance you have of acquiring additional visitors to your website.
The traffic and earnings potential is unbelievable with these Web 2.0 sites.
This same concept can be used for submitting photos, original images, and digital audio files.
The theme can be applied over and over again create more and more traffic!

Exchanging links with related popular websites, has always been an effective method of driving traffic to your website.
The trick is how to attract traffic generating links.
Link bait can be an article, a video, a picture, a blog post, or any other content you place on your website, that is specifically designed to cultivate links from as many sources as possible on the Internet.

Be Cautious Making Your Own Online Videos
Sunday, September 13, 2009
It's important to be cautious when making your own online videos.
With the increased popularity of online videos, nearly everyone is becoming consumed with making and uploading their own videos.
The two most popular video websites, Google Video and YouTube, both allow members to produce, share and upload their own videos online.
If you are one of the people consumed with making your own online videos, there are some things you should be cautious of, and take into consideration.
Remember that anything you write, say, or video tape online can come back to haunt you.
It may not happen right away, but whatever you upload to the Internet will remain there for a very very long time and could resurrect in the future.
The politicians who regularly show up on YouTube, can attest to the fact that what they said 4 or 5 years ago was not forgotten by the public.
When making your own online videos, watch what you document.
The use of illegal drugs, your views, thoughts, ideas and beliefs are alright to share with close personal friends, but not such a good idea online.
Millions of internet viewers inhabit video websites and not all of them are there to just have fun, or get a laugh.
Never put anything on the web that can be used against you at a later date.
Employment, is a perfect example.
When you apply for a job, the form you fill out for your employer requires your name, address, phone, age, etc.
Modern employers now use the Internet to research their potential employees, and what you might have uploaded several years prior, could hurt you.
Even if you're not looking for a job now, your employer could come across something you did some time ago, for fun, and decide it could hurt your current standing with your company.
A fun video of you acting like a nitwit, cursing, doing something illegal or just plain being stupid could be cause to keep you frozen at your current salary or even fired.
Your next employer could also detect the same unintentionally devastating information.
Teenagers who think it's neat to upload a semi nude or nude video of themselves or others, could find themselves the target of criminal investigations, or suspended from their schools.
A growing number of school officials are now using the internet to keep tabs on their students and document illegal activities, and threats of violence.
Online video sites and social networking sites are now being monitored regularly.
Whether you are an adult, or a teenager making your own online videos, a little bit of common sense goes a long way, to keep you from doing yourself harm.

Answer The Question - What Is A Sticky Website?
Monday, September 7, 2009
Recently, I was questioned about the origin of; What is a "sticky website"?
A sticky website is nothing more than a content rich website that will keep the interest of visitors who stop by.
As much as we would like it, website visitors will not stay on your website if there is nothing there to grab, and keep their attention.
It often appears that web surfers seem to have a case of A.D.D., when they surf the web.
Sometimes the most innocuous item will draw in a visitor to a website and keep them returning to that particular site.
In order to increase the flow of traffic to your website, the trick is to identify, and emulate or duplicate that draw.
A sticky website is absolutely necessary in affiliate marketing if you plan on being successful.
Your sales pitch will fall on deaf ears if there is no reason for people to stop by your site and keep them coming back.
Creating useful content, and lots of it, is the best way to make a
"sticky website".
Newsletters also work well and are also a good way to build your email list.
You can also use contests, quizzes, polls, or product reviews to keep your visitor interest peaked and keep them returning.
The more interesting useful information that you can put on your website, the the better your odds are, of attracting visitors to your site on a regular basis.
You can say you have a "sticky website" when you have built up a base of steady returning visitors.
You don't have to settle for a mediocre website. You should constantly test your site for ways to bring products to your visitor's attention.
You should always be looking for better ways to keep a "sticky website" and attract new visitors.

Convert Your Web Pages Into Subscriber Magnets
Monday, August 31, 2009
If you have a content based website, or if you own single page sales letters, you can turn every page into subscriber magnets.
Applying this concept is extremely effective, and relatively effortless.
It's a fact that most of the visitors that come to inspect your website, leave without ever again thinking about it.
The good news, is that you can easily follow up with your visitors by getting their permission to opt into your mailing list, through your web pages.
You can create a pop up windows to appear when your visitor attempts to leave your site, or close the window.
The pop up asks for your visitor's email address, and first name, so that you can follow up with them in the future, by having them subscribe to your mailing list.
You can sweeten the pot by creating an incentive and giving away a free ebook, newsletter, or some other bonus.
Since many web surfers have a distaste for pop ups, including myself, and because pop up blockers are installed in many web browsers; an effective alternate, is to insert your opt-in form between the spaces in your web pages.
It doesn't take long to set up the opt-in form, and once set up; it basically runs on autopilot.
Using this concept, you can turn every web page you own into a subscriber pulling magnet.

Effective Article Marketing
Sunday, August 23, 2009
There are an infinite amount of ways to write articles, however here are some tips you should consider for effective article marketing.
Plan your article before you begin writing. Ask yourself what use this article will be to your website and if it will attract traffic and inbound links to your site.
A well written article should bring in a considerable amount of web traffic within a few weeks of publication.
Make sure the title to your article is catchy and interesting. Front load your title with keywords or a keyword phrase.
The title of an article is the most important part of your article in terms of distribution and indexing by the search engines.
Your job is to write an original article with a killer, keyword rich title. Often, the title is written after the article so as to capture the flow of the article without stifling the content.
Know who your target audience is before you pick the topic of your article. Focus your article on your audience for the best possible exposure with the finished product.
Select topics that are of use to your audience and will be of benefit to them. Focus on your topic and try to stay on course.
Keep your paragraphs relatively short and try not to overwhelm your audience. It's also very important to write what you know about. BS may go a long way in other places, but not in your article. People can spot it a mile away.
Your article should not be boring! Keep the interest of your audience at all costs. Effective article marketing will keep your audience interested all the way to the resource box.
The author box, or resource box is where you make your pitch.
It should include your name, a short description of you or your business, and a link to your website.
Include keywords in your resource box, and when possible, write in the third person, in order to get a better flow of text when your article is reprinted on another website.
MAKE SURE YOU INCLUDE A LINK TO YOUR WEBSITE in the resource box.
It is unbelievable how many people forget this important piece of information.
Effective article marketing is impossible without proper distribution.
The whole purpose of writing an article is to distribute it and attract web traffic.
There are a number of places you can submit your articles to for reprinting however, article directories such as Ezine articles, give you the most exposure.
A Google search will provide more article directories than you can handle, or you can always outsource the directory submissions, and put your time to a better use, like internet marketing.

Gain Super Affiliate Status By Pre-Selling.
Saturday, August 15, 2009
There are a number of reasons why most affiliate marketers never acheive the recognition of being called a super affiliate.
One of the primary contributors to their lack of super affiliate status, is the failure of these affiliates, to pre-sell their potential customers.
Preparing potential customers for the affiliate product they are supposed to be buying, is what pre-selling is all about.
Basically, it's the warming up of your audience. It's kind of like having a warm up group, before the star attraction, at a rock concert. The warm up group, works up the audience in preparation for the main event.
Unfortunately, most affiliates just set up a web site, and send visitors to their affiliate link, using a PPC campaign or some other method to drive traffic.
They fail to prepare their potential customers, or inform them about the product that they will be expected to buy.
This is NOT the best strategy for closing a sale, however,it does provide a measure of success. This is why most affiliate marketers still use it.
Other affiliate marketers are content to send an email promotion to people on their list, and never do a single follow up on it.
This is NOT a formula to achieve super affiliate status! However, this strategy can be improved on to include an effective pre-selling campaign.
Still other affiliate marketers travel the opposite path, and pepper the people on their email list with endless repetitive affiliate promotions, time after time.
This is an excellent way to diminish the size of your email list, and your earnings.
No one appreciates endless affiliate promotions cluttering their inbox. All this will guarantee, is a blocked email address or worse.
ABSOLUTELY NEVER USE THIS APPROACH!
Pre-selling is about building trust with your potential customer, and really not selling them anything, at least initially.
Once the trust factor is achieved, and your prospects are comfortable with your suggestions, you can achieve super affiliate status and sell almost anything at all.

Affiliate Marketing With Article Marketing
Sunday, August 9, 2009
Anyone who can write a paragraph, can promote their affiliate marketing with article marketing.
Affiliate marketing does not require what you might expect to become successful.
Winning affiliates often promote their products without what we normally consider the essentials.
- You do NOT need a website to become a successful affiliate marketer.
- A pay per click campaign is NOT essential for success.
- NO software is needed to succeed.
- You will NOT have to read long instructional e-books.
Affiliate marketing, with article marketing!
You can become a winning affiliate by following some simple suggestions.
First select an affiliate program with an excellent product, that has great sales aids, good customer service, a decent recurring commission schedule, and is popular with the public.
This type of affiliate program is tailor made for earning consistent, long term commissions, via article marketing.
Write an interesting, informative, article about the topic you are promoting. Make it valuable to the point that others will use it on their own websites.
If you are unable or incapable of writing, as some of us are, then outsource your article writing. The internet is loaded with ghost writers who are willing to do this at a reasonable cost to you.
Make sure your affiliate link is included in the resource box, at the end of your article. This is important!
When your article is picked up for use by others on their websites, your affiliate link will be included. Affiliate marketing with article marketing can make your link viral if it is well written and interesting enough.
Write at least one article per week, or more if possible, to get the most effect out of your writing.
Each article you write, should stimulate the reader enough, to at least have them click on the affiliate link, in the resource box, at the end of your article.
Done properly, affiliate marketing, combined with article marketing, dispenses with the need for websites, PPC, and all the other so called essentials to effective promotions.

Click Fraud - What Is It And How Do You Stop It?
Friday, July 24, 2009
You probably have heard about "click fraud" - what is it, and how do you stop it from happening?
If you are an AdWords or AdSense user; you have probably already encountered "click fraud" to some degree.
Google uses clicks to reimburse publishers for allowing Adsense ads to be placed on their websites. A certain amount of money is paid by Google, to the publisher, every time an Adsense ad is clicked on by someone visiting their site.
Unscrupulous website publishers occasionally attempt to artificially increase their earnings, by generating false, or "fraudulent clicks", on Adsense ads placed on their sites.
Click fraud, is simply the attempt by these unscrupulous publishers, to have people clicking the ads on their websites, to earn a higher income.
Whatever name you give it, it's still fraud.
Some people set up websites for the sole purpose of generating revenue with "click fraud" using Google's Adsense program.
An incredible number of clicks are gathered by some publishers using sophisticated, very complex methods. Other publishers use simpler ways to get other people to click on their Adsense ads.
Without going into detail as to how this is actually accomplished, publishers that use either method will likely be banned from the program, and probably sued, when a large number of clicks suddenly appear from a single address.
There are countless "click fraud" scams that abound on the Internet, and Google has developed a strict policy concerning it.
Publishers that have employed such techniques as "click fraud" in the past, have been successfully sued, however; even with Google's best efforts to minimize the risk, "click fraud" still occurs.
Conservative estimates are that 20% of AdSense link clicks are "click fraud" and intended to steal from the person placing the ad.
Despite the amount of "click fraud" that cannot be contained by Google, AdWords advertisers still find this method is more profitable than any other conventional non targeted advertising method on the Internet.

Your Website Should Be Easy To View
Sunday, July 19, 2009
An important but sometimes neglected point in website construction, is ensuring that your website is easy to view.
This sounds like nit picking, however, have you ever visited a website with text so small, you need a magnifying glass to view it? How about a website where the color combination are so gaudy and obnoxious that you can't easily read the content?
Your website should be easy to view by your visitors, this is critical in promoting your site and attracting potential clients.
To ensure your website is easy to view, consider the following 5 suggestions.
1 - Don't clash colors on your website. Make sure they are easy on the eyes and do not distract form the content of your web site.
2 - Don't use excessive and distracting graphics. Excessive graphics not only distract from the "thrust" of your website, but also cause slow loading in browsers of visitors with slow Internet connections.
3 - Don't use excessive rich text formatting. Underlining, italics, and bold text all have their place, however, excessive use causes a website to look too "busy" and distracts from the overall quality.
4 - Don't forget to use plenty of space in your article content. Make sure that there is plenty of "white" space between your sentences. Make frequent paragraphs when writing your content. This makes the overall reading of content on your web page much easier on the eyes. You don't easily get lost when you have a lot of "white" in your text.
5 - Don't forget to use easily readable fonts. Your font size should be large enough for visitors to easily read, yet not overcoming to your reader. Extra large fonts look awkward on your web page, and are unnecessary. Too small fonts, make reading large article, a chore.
6 - Don't overuse colors in your fonts. Using colors to put exta emphasis on topics or words is just fine. Using colors unnecessarily in the content makes reading irritating to a visitor and can lose the idea that you are trying to present to the reader. Judicious use can enhance a web page but, just like anything else, too much of a good thing is NOT GOOD.
These 6 considerations should make your website easier to view, attract more visitors, and keep them!

Avoid Annoying Web Pages!
Sunday, July 12, 2009
Freedom of expression is available to everyone, however if you would like to keep your visitors from leaving your site, avoid annoying web pages!
Professional and amateur web artists and designers thrive on the internet, and freely explore their artistic prowess in a number of venues.
Unfortunately, with the freedom of expression, comes the ability to offend the sensibilities of website visitors, by going overboard and building annoying web pages.
It's sometimes hard to determine, what makes a particular web page bothersome to a visitor.
Some websites provide good looking web pages using certain colors, while others use the same colors and come up with an annoying color scheme.
Use colors that work together.
Colors used properly, can make a website attractive and communicate emotion to the viewer.
However, there is an indeterminable line, that when crossed, causes a website using the same colors to lose viewers.
Some color combinations are just plain irritating to the eyes!
An example is using a red and white color combination during the Holidays Season. This is totally appropriate and acceptable during this time of year. The same color combination based on another theme, say internet marketing, would probably not attract or keep many visitors at any other time of the year.
Colors can add interest to an otherwise dull website that is loaded with plain text. On the other hand, too much color distracts from the content of the site.
Placing a dark text on a black, or dark background, is totally unacceptable, and makes the text painfully difficult to read.
Some common sense on the part of the web designer usually precludes this potential problem.
Excessive graphics and pop ups are also more than a distraction on some websites.
Graphics used judiciously, enhance the quality of a website. Overuse of graphics, has the opposite effect plus they cause delays in page loading.
We sometimes forget that a great percentage of internet users still access the internet with slow modem connections.
Excessive graphics cause long load times and will lose potential customers. Nothing is more aggravating than a web page that just sits there waiting to load! Talk about annoying!
Pop ups, in my humble opinion, are something that should be banned from websites. They do have their place in marketing applications, however, they are almost as annoying to me as slow loading web pages.
Another annoying factor in web page design, is the excessive use of clicks to access information that should be readily accessible. You should not have to click through 4 or 5 pages, to get the information you need.
To me, anything over 2 clicks is too much! Why over complicate navigation in your website?
KISS, keep it simple stupid, and you will retain more visitors.
I know there is no such thing as a "perfect" web page design because we all have a different vision of perfection, however, if you use some common sense in addition to your artistic creativity, you can avoid annoying web pages.

The Value Of Autoresponders
Monday, July 6, 2009
More often than not, most people that are surfing the internet for specific information, that come across your website, have absolutely no intention of buying anything from you.
It usually requires several exposures to an article, a product, or sales pitch, before a visitor to your site will decide to purchase anything from you.
This is not to say that a well written sales page cannot entice a buyer; there are some impulse buyers, my wife being one of them, who will purchase on the first visit, however, this is not the norm.
To stop visitors from leaving your website without ever returning, you need to capitalize on their initial visit, and before they leave, find a way to follow up with them several times.
Developing an e-mail list is one way to do this, and the best way to develop and manage an e-mail list, is with a program known as an autoresponder set up on your website.
An autoresponder can handle virtually any email you receive, and is a wonderful asset to your business.
Autoresponders capture emails from your website traffic, before your visitors leave your website, and then manage the e-mail database that it collected from your web traffic.
You can subscribe to an autoresponder, and once you sign in to your account, you can create a sign up form to capture your website visitor's name and e-mail address.
These addresses are then added to a customer database, or list, where you can reestablish contact with your visitor and send them additional product information.
Once you have a list established, you can use your autoresponder to showcase new products and information to your customers as many times as you feel necessary.
An autoresponder is like having an underpaid salesperson at work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, without the hassles of dealing with human resources.
There are many other valuable uses for autoresponders once a database of sufficient size is collected.

Why Do I Need To Write A Press Release ?
Wednesday, July 1, 2009
Occasionally I hear the question; why do I need to write a press release?
There are many correct answers, but increasing your business publicity, and credibility, are on the top of the list.
The only part of a marketing strategy that truly builds credibility, is publicity.
Publicity can be had for free, and in most instances, all that is required is time and effort. So why write a press release? Because of it's effectiveness in building credibility.
For new start up businesses, building credibility through publicity and advertising, is critical to success.
Both advertising and press releases are effective, however, when it comes to building credibility, press releases definitely beat out the competition.
You can control your message with advertising; you cannot control your message as effectively with press releases.
Because of this fact, press releases have more credibility with the public.
When readers view an advertisement, they instinctively know that there is a good bit of bull included.
When they read a press release by a reviewer, reporter, broadcaster or an "independent" authority; they are more inclined to believe what is being written in the press release than in an advertisement.
A well written press release can directly influence reviewers, reporters, and the like.
The bottom line is that nothing can win credibility with a customer, give your business the much needed exposure it needs, or dramatically increase your sales, as a well written press release that is published by the media.
That is why your should write a press release!

Give Your Website Value: Then Get the Word Out!
Tuesday, June 23, 2009
Search engine optimization isn't the only way to get massive amounts of website traffic. Organic traffic, viral traffic and PPC also get the word out quite satisfactorily.
Search engine result pages are just like any other website page on the web.
The only reason people find it necessary to have their website listed in the top of the results page, is because other people search for information using the search engines, and land on the search engine results page.
This obviously allows many people to view your site, if your site just happens to be in a prominent position in the search engine results page.
By acquiring a good position in the search engine results page, your website will attract tons of traffic, and with a decent conversion rate, generally realize a nice profit for you.
However, just being in a prominent position, on the results page, does not automatically guarantee you a life of leisure.
Your website must possess some sort of value.
It must either provide a solution to an existing or perceived problem, answer questions that need to be answered, or provide some sort of educational, social or economic advantage for the visitor.
Once your product has been either created or purchased, and you have a landing page with a killer sales letter that demonstrates the need for your product; then you can get the word out.
Make sure that your website is not designed strictly as an empty shell, just to attract web traffic.
Your website should show your visitors that it has real value, by providing them with the helpful, useful, interesting, and much needed information that they are searching for, when using the search engines.

Develop A Good Internet Marketing Blueprint
Thursday, June 4, 2009
Before you can develop a good internet marketing blueprint, you must define your product, and decide what you intend to accomplish.
Check out the competition to find out how your competitors are selling products similar to yours. Try to determine what motivates people to buy your product, and how you can capitalize on it.
Decide weather it's better for you to stand out from the crowd of competitors selling products similar to yours, or if the thrust of your marketing should be geared towards strategies that your competitors are already using.
There is a saying; if it's not broken, don't break it. This applies to many things in life including business.
If your competition has a successful internet marketing blueprint, copy it, or modify it to your product's specifications. Your competitors have probably been testing their marketing blueprints for quite some time.
A wise marketer learns from his competition without having to experience the difficulties they endured.
Remember that people will not magically flock to your website. You are going to have to do some work to attract visitors.
If you are using your own website, a free blog platform, Squidoo or Hub page or Ezine articles, you must still develop and follow a good internet marketing blueprint to become successful.

Article Marketing Tips: 5 Tips To Remember When Writing Your Article Title
Sunday, May 31, 2009
Your article title is extremely important to the search engines, as well as your readers, and is what sells your article to your readers.
Here are 5 simple tips that will help you write a compelling article title.
1 - Make your title easy to read and use upper and lower case letters. Avoid using quotes and all capital letters.
2 - The length of your title should not be overly short or to wordy. A minimum of two words, to a maximum of 160 characters is just about right for your readers and the search engines.
3 - Make your title keyword rich, not keyword stuffed. When you try to optimize for the search engines by stuffing too many keywords into the title, it sometimes makes for difficult reading. Make your title read naturally, and your readers will reward you for it by reading the content of your article. Nothing turns off a reader, like an article title that reads awkwardly.
4 - Your title should be interesting and directly pertain to the body of your article's content. Do not ever include the company name, author's name, or the title of your website in the title of your article. This takes away credibility from the article and also turns off readers.
Describe what is actually in the content of your article and always deliver what you promise in the body of the article when a promise was made in the article title. As an example: If you promised tips in the title or offered secrets; make sure you deliver tips or secrets in the body of your article. This is IMPORTANT in order to maintain credibility with your readers.
5 - Never use slang or profanity in the title of your article. The success of the amount of qualified traffic your article will generate, depends on your title, and testing has shown that the use of slang and profanity in their article title, reduces the response from your article when used.
Although these tips sound simple, many article writers have found that using them has increased the response from the articles they have written.
