Strategic Online Profit Strategies For Selecting Products

Sunday, February 12, 2012

There are several strategic online profit strategies for selecting products to promote for your home based business, but they all focus on cost vs. volume.

Unless you are what is known as a "power salesman" the products or services you choose to promote from your home based business can make or brake your business.

Quality products or services are obviously much easier to market than inferior products, so how do you choose one for your business model?

Here are two strategies that can help you select a product or service with a high potential for becoming profitable.

Product selection usually boils down to cost vs. volume.
  • Most home based business owners model their businesses around products that are relatively inexpensive and operate on a lower profit margin.
When promoting lower priced products or services under the assumption that a higher volume of sales will be more profitable to the business, care should be taken to ensure a high volume of sales or at least a high volume of visitor traffic to the business site.

A home based business that enjoys a high volume of visitor traffic and a high sales conversion rate is able to operate and grow with a lower profit margin.

The lower profit margin is compensated by the increased number of sales made.

Many affiliate marketing programs, two-tier affiliate programs and multilevel marketing programs successfully operate this way.

Selecting relatively low priced high volume products such as digital products, basic commodities, website hosting packages, domain names, health supplements, training courses, etc. are all good selections to make for the volume business model.

Many successful home based Internet marketing business entrepreneurs select inexpensive quality digital products to promote as an affiliate, that pay generous commissions.
  • The next strategy for selecting profitable products focuses on high ticket, low volume items that earn more money per sale.
Big ticket products target an entirely different Internet clientele and do not necessarily require as much website traffic to make a generous profit.

The direct sales business model fits well with high ticket products.

High ticket items include products such as business opportunity plans, personal coaching for Internet marketers, classic automobiles, discount travel programs, airplanes and other physical products, etc.

With high ticket products, a home based Internet marketing business entrepreneur can earn from several hundred to several thousands of dollars per sale with a relatively low volume of website traffic.

The difference between the two strategies is the arena you are pulling potential customers from on the Internet.

Even though traffic volume is not as much of a concern as it is with low priced high volume commodities, it is essential that your web traffic is lazer targeted to the product you are promoting.

Even though you will not get as many daily searches from Google, proper SEO strategies must be used with targeted keyword phrases (long tail keywords) to funnel specifically targeted traffic to your site.

Both strategies benefit from the use of multiple websites to promote specific products and increase web traffic.

The type of product you select for promotion determines how much money you will earn and how much daily website traffic you will need to convert into paying customers.

In a perfect world we would all prefer promoting big ticket, high volume products, but in the real marketing world, strategic online profit strategies for selecting products are helpful in making your home based business profitability a reality.

Targeted Magazine Marketing

Saturday, January 28, 2012

Targeted magazine marketing is an often overlooked, rarely used strategy that can funnel loads of targeted web traffic to your website.

Every home based business owner, affiliate marketer or Internet entrepreneur knows the importance of getting targeted traffic to your business website or blog.

You can never have too much web traffic, in fact traffic is everything.  And targeted visitor traffic is literally the life blood of every online business.

Of all the strategic online profit strategies that are available to online businesses; targeted magazine marketing is for some reason, one of the least used.

Even though it is rarely used, the potential for opening up virtually untapped markets of targeted visitor traffic is huge.

Business opportunity magazines like Money Making Opportunities, Opportunity World, Entrepreneur, etc. are capable of producing serious amounts of web traffic for your business.

A large percentage of individuals who read these magazines are also doing business on the Internet and surfing every day.

If you are an Internet marketer or an affiliate who is promoting an affiliate program, some type of home business opportunity or any other type of money making system online, then targeted magazine marketing can be just the ticket for you.

Business opportunity magazines in particular, are a relatively untapped source for advertising.  And they are a real bargain for the price.

The few individuals that do capitalize on targeted magazine marketing reap benefits for years.

Magazine advertisements last as long as the magazine is still in business.  In fact they actually last longer.

People will read old magazines for years, even if the magazine is no longer in operation.

For a one time advertising cost, it's hard to beat the ad coverage you get!

Consistency is the Key to advertising success.

Like email marketing, your advertisement needs to be seen month after month to build trust with readers.

It's better to run a smaller display ad in every issue of a magazine, than it is to run a larger ad less frequently.

Make sure that your display advertisement is listed within the first 30 pages of the magazine.

If your are placing a classified advertisement, the placement doesn't really matter all that much since most people go directly to the back of the magazine to find them.

Be sure you ask for the “Agency Discount” if you deal directly with the magazine.

The “Agency discount” is the special rate that magazines offer advertisers who act as their own advertising agency, usually 15%.

You normally don’t have to be an advertising agency to get this rate. The main thing the magazines are concerned with is that you didn’t go through an ad agency to find them.

When purchasing display advertising space in business opportunity magazines, don't buy directly from the magazines.

They normally charge higher prices for display ads than if you purchase from related magazines which will also design your ads.

A Google search for "discount magazine advertising" or "cheap magazine advertising" will provide you all the resources you need.

You will normally receive huge savings and discounts on media advertising when you go through these sites.

Although targeted magazine advertising is one of the most overlooked strategic online profit strategies, it can provide your website with some serious targeted traffic for an extended period of time at a relatively low cost.

Strategic Online Profit Strategies For Success: Consider A Partnership

Saturday, October 8, 2011

Consider a partnership as one of the strategic online profit strategies for a successful home based business.

We all know that starting any home based business is risky, especially with the current business environment.

Going it alone expands the risk potential which is why many online entrepreneurs hook up with at least one additional business partner.

Before you consider a partnership, you should already be aware of the numerous  disadvantages of having a partner in a business relationship.

Many articles have been written about partnerships so I won't bore you with redundant information.

However when done correctly, a successful partnership can literally double your chances of success.  There is a lot to be said for the adage "two heads are better than one".

When two intelligent motivated business minds are on the same page working for a common goal, there is virtually no limit to what can be accomplished in a business venture.

When you consider a partnership, it is very important that both partners bring something different to the table.

Each partner should compliment the other in some way that benefits the common business goal.

If you can find a business partner with a complementary or unique skill set, an exceptional personality with leadership traits and a sincere desire for success whom you genuinely like and trust, you need to sign them up before they hit the door.

Starting a business alone gets old fast!

Having a partner promotes fresh innovative ideas, improves cost effective solutions to business challenges and adds an extra pair of "fresh" eyes that can look at business challenges from another perspective.

The most important factor when you consider a partnership is TRUST.

For this reason, it's a good idea to thoroughly vet your potential partner.  Set a trial period that is mutually agreeable to both parties so each party can get to know the other person and hopefully create a bond.

A good partner will immediately benefit your business.

It's a huge advantage when you have someone to "bounce" your ideas off of and fine tune your profit strategies.

If you're running a small Internet business with only a few or no employees, having a business partner allows you greater flexibility in your work schedule.

When you become ill or get "burned out" and need a vacation from your business, you have a partner to fall back on.

A good partner will also be your biggest critic.  It's always good to have someone with an interest in your business go over your business decisions before you implement them.

Although many business owners take on a partner strictly for financial purposes, this can be a recipe for failure.

Successful business partnerships don't focus on their partners for money.  Banks and other financial lending institutions are for that purpose.

If you are a one man operation and feel like you're stuck in a rut, you should consider a partnership as a strategic online profit strategy for success.

Although not every business needs a partnership, you can definitely maximize your online profits by having one.

Turnkey Websites: Why You Should Bother With Turnkey Websites

Friday, October 15, 2010

There are many reasons why you should bother with turnkey websites; especially if you are new to the Internet and are trying to make money in a hurry.

Of all the different types of websites that are available on the Internet, turnkey websites are the most suited for newcomers to Internet marketing.

Turnkey websites seem to be the perfect business model for people interested in quickly making money, without spending any.
Turnkey websites are relatively easy to set up and administer. This makes them particularly appealing to newcomers interested in starting a home based business as quickly as possible.

Turnkey websites make it easier to get into business without a major life change. Because they basically run on their own when properly set up, it's not necessary to drastically change your lifestyle and spend an inordinate amount of time watching over them to make money.

Unlike conventional websites; turnkey websites require no HTML or technical knowledge to create. When you purchase them or occasionally acquire them for free during giveaways; everything on the website is already created for you by professionals.

Turnkey websites are preloaded with professionally written content specific to their niche topics. You can also add your own content or edit the written content that is provided in order to create a more unique site if you so desire.

Turnkey websites are usually provided with a variety of money making affiliate programs such as AdSense, Clickbank, Amazon or other affiliate products already loaded on the site. The only thing the user is required to do is edit their AdSense, Clickbank, or Amazon affiliate links to start earning money.

Turnkey Websites are easy to set up and administer. Once they are uploaded to your server, changes or additions to the site can easily be made through the admin panel.

Although most turnkey websites are already optimized for the search engines and can be easily tweaked to improve the search engine rankings; the more web traffic you funnel to them, the more money you will earn.

Finally, the main reason why you should bother with turnkey websites is that most are extremely inexpensive to purchase and occasionally even free for the asking, when offered as giveaways.

Here are a few examples of different types of turnkey websites that can provide you with a steady income stream when you set up enough of them.

Independently, each site may only provide a few dollars per day, but when you amass a network of 40 or 50 turnkey websites; you're looking at some substantial earnings over a given period of time.
