What Are Cyber Squatters?

Wednesday, January 27, 2010

Cyber squatters are the lowlifes on the Internet, whose main mission in life is to cause confusion, and steal your web identity.

These lazy, evil, people, will look for a good prospering website, and to register your .com domain name, as a .org, .net, or a .biz domain.

Cyber squatters will then usually contact you, and try to sell you those names at ridiculously high prices.

If you don't fall for this, they could allow your competition to get a domain that is similar to your domain, and try to steal your web traffic and your customers.

A similar domain name, or a domain with a common misspelling, could cause enough confusion with your visitors for you to lose business.

You can stop cyber squatters by having people go through you, for authorization.

You can lock in authorized entities of your claim of other domain names, by going through your domain name registrar, and simply filling out a form.

You can always purchase these names, and keep them safe under your umbrella.

The prices for purchasing .biz, .net, and .org domains are usually very inexpensive, and are worth the cost of keeping your website business address safe from cyber squatters.

Whey filling out an authorized entry form with your domain registrar, there may be a time frame for you to adhere to, before they quit holding other versions of your domain name.

Usually when you purchase a domain name, your domain registrar will offer you the option of purchasing all the other versions that are available for the original domain.

If you choose not to purchase the other versions, they will not hold them indefinitely and if you wait too long, they will not check the IP Claim Service database and you could lose the .info or net version of your domain name.

Cyber squatters can ruin what you have worked so hard to build up if you're not vigilant, so play it safe, and get the authorization and the rights to similar versions of your main domain, .com name.
